Eligibility: The program is now available to all age groups of Canadian residents who do not have dental insurance and whose household adjusted net income is $90,000 or less. Applicants must also be Canadian residents for tax purposes and have filed a tax return in the previous year. All age groups (including children under 18, adults with a valid Disability Tax Credit certificate, and seniors) are currently eligible to apply.
Covered Services:
Includes preventive, diagnostic, basic restorative (fillings), endodontic (root canals), periodontic, prosthodontic (dentures, crowns), oral surgery, anesthesia/sedation, and orthodontic services (orthodontic only if medically necessary and pre-authorized).
Note: Some services (e.g., crowns, partial dentures, orthodontics, deep sedation) require pre-authorization from CDCP. Applicants must renew their coverage annually; coverage lapses (e.g., failure to renew by June 30, 2025) will result in a gap during which treatments are not covered and will not be reimbursed retroactively.
